More than 2,000 arrested at pro-Palestinian protests on U.S. college campuses so far, according to an Associated Press analysis of news reports and arrest data.

Pro-Palestine demonstrations have been spreading across the U.S. and police have dismantled protest encampments at colleges like Columbia University.

On Thursday, at least 200 people were arrested at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) when police cleared an encampment.

"The arrests came after officers spent hours threatening arrests over loudspeakers if people did not disperse," according to a report from the local news outlet KTLA.

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators had occupied a Portland State University library since Monday. Officers had to clear the area and make arrested.

"They found extensive graffiti on the walls inside the library as well as furniture stacked in barricades and caches of tools and paint balloons," according to a local news report.
